Social media, I hate it but I need it.
About me:
My name is Mike Martin and I am the owner of OceanView Webdesign. I have been active on the Internet since 1997. I was fascinated about this new hype called the WWW and started to learn more about it. I had just finished my business school including Marketing, Public Relations, Business plans, Personnel and Organization, Financial Management, Operational Management and Logistics.
I have been involved into several online design studios and have operated all kinds of websites.
Social media:
I am still absolutely shocked this became such a hype. I have been fighting not to get involved, I have tried to ignore it. I have done everything I possible can not to look for old school mates or whatever. Why? Because I do not care about other people timelines. I do not care what they are doing now and I have tweeted one or 2 times. I have no Facebook friends and I do not care if it stays that way. Being popular on Facebook, Twitter or whatever is probably last thing on my to-do list.
But,
The huge amounts of traffic that are present over there I just can’t ignore. My business heart would bleed if I would not try to convert some of the potential sales that are just waiting for me to come get them.
The money-making tools these social media sites are providing these days are very powerful and have exceeded watching a site full of timeline baby photos.
I can help my clients make much more money if they use these social sites properly.
These are just a few reasons I had to bow down. Yes, I feel assimilated, but I had no choice. These crap sites took over and I will have to comply.
Ok, if I have to do this at least get good at it then! Well, I did, and our web design team did. We can provide you with all the tools you need to build up a solid follower’s base and be able to connect with them to make sure these leads can be turned into a buying and even returning customer.
So yes, from now on we will start building up a base with followers and make sure who supports us will get all kind of unique features for free. If someone takes the trouble to like us I will sure as hell reward him. Maybe I will do some small lotteries once a while a give one of our followers a free design or a 50% discount or whatever. We will have to see. So if you are not following us, liked us, loved us, fan clicked us do that now. It is appreciated and will be rewarded.

Well, some good questions you asked us there. You have been reading my other blogs, or you are just a very smart person. Let me give you a honest answer. I do not know. We will have to see. For some people their social media campaign skyrockets and for some business is slow. It totally depends on your product and choices you make. It also matters how much time you are going to spend on it when we are done and gave you the designs. Some people put 4 hours a day into their social sites and some 1 hour a week. There is a difference here!! Who do you think will have a bigger chance in making his social media plan work?
